World of Wearable Art & Classic Cars Museum: Explore the amazing pieces from the annual WOW Awards Show in tandem with one of Oceania’s largest private classic car collections. Alongside these awesome exhibits is a café equipped with some good grub as well as a store packed full of New Zealand Art and Jewelry.
Queen’s Gardens: Take a breath of fresh air and stroll, meditate, or run your way through a beautiful collection of flora and fauna at Queen’s Gardens, a short walk from city centre. With the beautiful flowers on display, water wheel, bridges, ducks and more there’s no reason not to visit Queen’s Gardens.
Tahunanui Beach: Kick Back and relax on a lovely slice of New Zealand Beach with your friends and family. On a sunny day it makes for the perfect stroll with its beautifully colored sand and waters, bring a net and play some beach sports, or a packed lunch for a picnic in the sunset.
Nelson Saturday Market: Spend hours walking through the countless stalls with a multitude of arts and crafts on display. There’s also plenty of good grub from locally sourced stalls nestled within the craft stalls- each visit to the Saturday Market is an adventure of its own!
Rabbit Island: Head out to Rabbit Island for some long open beach free from commercial entities- just sand and perfect BBQ spots. So, bring some friends and family down with some meat to chuck on the barbeque for a good time.
Christ Church Cathedral: Take the flights of stairs up to the top of Christ Church Cathedral to appreciate the central outlook over Nelson. The Cathedral is also surrounded by a brilliant assortment of flora and fauna. Within the Cathedral is a labyrinth. Head down to the Cathedral for some spectacular photos from the top!
Founders Park: Take a cheap train ride down to Founders Park to checkout Nelson’s heritage and how life was back in the day with replicas of vintage accommodation and culture. Enjoy a day of shopping and dining in Nelson’s very own Founders Park.
